Hike To Ausangate And The Mountain Of 7 Colors 3 Days

The 3-Day Ausangate Trek is perfect for experienced hikers looking for adventure but short on time. This route takes you to the heart of the Andes, crossing three mountain passes, walking among free-ranging alpacas and llamas, and passing through incredibly diverse landscapes that change every day: from snow-capped peaks to desert-red mountains and green, swampy pampas. The final reward is reaching the hidden Mountain of 7 Colors, an impressive natural wonder that looks like something out of a rainbow and will leave you breathless. Throughout the tour, you will have the opportunity to observe a wide variety of Andean fauna, such as condors, alpacas, vizcachas, Andean geese, vicuñas, wild cats and even pumas. Our camps offer spectacular views of Ausangate from different angles, and on the first day you can relax in hot springs while enjoying the colorful mountains. The Mountain of 7 Colors is, without a doubt, one of the most impressive landscapes you will see in Peru! During the tour you will visit key points such as Cusco, Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes, reaching altitudes close to Accommodation. The itinerary takes place in 3 days with professional accompaniment. At Cusco Mio we prioritize safety, official permits when applicable, and an authentic experience. For inquiries write to our WhatsApp channel or call +51 969 190 507

Itinerary

  1. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 5:00 a.m. and we will travel by private transportation for approximately two hours until we reach Tinki. There you can stretch your legs, watch the locals in their traditional costumes and even visit the local market if it is open. Then we will continue the trip on an unpaved and somewhat dusty road for approximately an hour until we reach Upis Pampa. After breakfast, our skilled muleteers will organize the group's equipment and prepare the horses to begin the walk. We will begin walking through agricultural communities, enjoying spectacular views of the mountains for about three hours, until we reach our lunch point. After lunch, we will continue the walk for two more hours until we reach Camp Upis (4,320 m). Along the way, you will be able to admire the imposing beauty of Nevado Ausangate and interact with local farmers dressed in traditional attire. Once at camp, you will have the option to hike to Laguna Upis or relax in the nearby hot springs.
